I’ve had the Xtra Muse for a couple of weeks now and have used it enough to decide that I’m keeping it. Overall, I’ve been very happy with how it has performed.
I recorded in 4K/30 fps outside in temperatures around 105°F, and although the camera got warm, it never became excessively hot or shut down. I’ve also used it while walking and talking, and the stabilization did a really good job keeping the footage smooth.
File transfers have worked without any problems, although removing the microSD card and using a card reader was much faster than transferring through the USB cable. I saw around 32 MB/s through USB compared with approximately 346 MB/s using the card reader.
The onboard microphone sounds fine when I’m within about three feet of the camera. For anything farther away, I would definitely use an external microphone. I paired my DJI Mic Mini with the Muse without any trouble, and the sound was good. The battery has also lasted well during my normal use, although I haven’t performed a timed battery test.
The one issue I’ve noticed is with subject tracking. Mine follows me much farther when I move in one direction than it does in the other. I’m still looking into whether that is a setting, firmware issue or simply a limitation of the gimbal.
Even with that concern, the image quality, stabilization, microphone compatibility and overall performance have been good enough that I’ve decided to keep mine.
I create both Shorts and full-length product review videos, and I’ve already been making several videos covering my real-world experience with the Muse. I was disappointed to see the Muse 2 Pro Early Bird release paused, because I was looking forward to seeing what improvements it offered. Hopefully it eventually makes it to market, and maybe I’ll have the opportunity to put one through the same kind of real-world use.

This little camera is so amazing
The perfect camera for vlogging and on-point with the DJI Osmo P3! Love that it has the master follow feature so it you'll always stay in frame and the simplicity of the camera because you can really just take the camera out and start vlogging with it! The audio is loud and clear and the screen is very responsive and bright! Can't wait to take this camera on trips with me so that I can capture my favorite moments.

I've used my friend's DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and when I bought this camera, it had an identical feel in the hand. The menus are different, but the functionality is nearly identical. It has sharp video, great sound, and a gimbal feature on a camera this small is invaluable in the field or in the studio. I bought a 2x zoom lens on Amazon, and that coupled with the in camera zoom looks amazing. The next thing Xtra should do is develop their own line of magnifiers and filters for the Muse. That's the surest way to make an already great camera even better
